TOM PORTER (Mohawk) www.mohawkcommunity.com Traditional Chief and his family come back to the valley from which their forefathers were exiled almost two hundred years ago. The Mohawk Nation, along with the Oneida, Tuscarora, Onondaga, Seneca, and Cayuga, made up the Iroquois Confederacy. This unique system of intertribal government was founded to establish peace and democracy among all the nations of the Iroquois (or, as they called themselves, the Haudenosaunee People of the Longhouse), while preserving the integrity of each. The principles of democracy laid down by the Iroquois Confederacy would be admired by the Founding Fathers of the United States and woven into the fabric of the Constitution.********** MARIO MURILLO – Professor at Hofstra University talks about the film "A Country of Peoples: Without Owners" was conceptualized, written, edited and produced by the Communication Team of the Association of Indigenous Councils of Northern Cauca, ACIN.************* ADELARD BLACKMON (Dene) from Buffalo River, Saskatchewan, Canada serves on the United Nations Indigenous Commission on Human Rights talks of his experience and insight of the treatment of earth.

Tahrir
Miriam Said joins us to speak about her mother's Lebanon memoir "A World I Loved", a personalized, multi-layered account of Lebanese and Palestinians lives through the creeping presence of Zionism from her youth in 1917, and through the confused civil war years. We keep Tahrir's focus on Lebanon with NY-based filmmaker Jawad Metni. His film "Remnants of War", currently playing in New York City, visits mine-infested fields in South Lebanon after the 2006 Israeli invasion and the people determined to hold on to their lands. For access to podcasts of past programs and audio files of selected interviews, see www.RadioTahrir.org.

Equal Time for Freethought
Abortion - the Debate That Won't Go Away II. In the Aftermath of Dr. Tiller's Assassination: Abortion, Morality and the Liberation of Women. When a hero of women is hunted, demonized and finally cut down for saving the lives and the quality of life of women everywhere, it is women as a whole who have been violently assaulted. And a society that does not rise up in massive repudiation against this is a society that accepts as normal the degradation, subjugation, shaming and blaming of half of humanity.

The Jordan Journal
On June 19 Howard Jordan interviews award winning columnist Gerson Borrero. For nearly nineteen years, Borrero has authored an award-winning newspaper column entitled "Bajo Fuego" (Under Fire) published in El Diario/La Prensa, the city's most important Spanish-language paper. Mr. Borrero is also a political commentator on NY1's "Inside City Hall Political Rundown" opposite Curtis Sliwa. The weekly segment, moderated by Dominic Carter, has become a "must see" by New York's political cognoscenti. The Rundown segment was also recently satirized on the David Letterman show. To contact Mr. Borrero go to borreroreport.com For suggestions or comments on the show write host Jordan at thejordanjournal@gmail.com
