For one thousand years,in this geopolitics people lived and died with their faith and we have been sharing the pluralism and diversity.Beef never has been an issue.
BEEFBAN is systematic mind control to accomplish the task of Hindu nation as well as economic ethnic cleansing! Why should we make Beef an issue to help the governance of Fascism?
We are exactly doing that to get political mileage and it divides us in Hindu and Muslim identities.
The people from literature do behave like politicians ,weather cocks rahter they should be the part of the conscience of the nation.But I am afraid that they are concerned with political correction and the timing for that and our respected Vishnu Khare already objected this blatant opportunism!
Why should we allow Beef Ban to become the focus skipping the economic,social and political issues,burning issues which must be addressed immediately?
I Object the statement of an Indian IAS officer returned Sahitya Academy Award last day which he got way back in 1994.He managed Bharat Bhavan during Emergency and managed Indian cultural scenario for Mrs Indira Gandhi!
He said when he saw a senior writer like Sahgal taking a stand, he felt more writers should support her. Vajpeyi expressed disappointed at the silence of the Sahitya Akademi, the national academy of letters, and said it had "failed to rise to the occasion and respect its autonomy".
I applaud this statement.What he dared not to speak in English,he said it in Hindi insulting Hindi as well as English that I object!He said that the English writers are not concerned at all.First,Uday Prakash,the Hindi writer dared to bell the cat first and it was his initiative.Then a kannad writer also returned the award.Nayantara had not taken the initiative at all.She followed Uday Prakash.
vajpayee followed suit.But he despises to name the Hindi writer.Moreover,he said that English writers is pachde mein nahi hadte ,so we should support Nayantara.I object.
I am writing in English for decades.Am I not concerned?
Those who write and interact in English are not concerned at all?What about Mulkraj Anand?KA Narayan of Malgudi days and the Indo English literature and Indo English journalism all the way?

वाजपेयी ने कहा, नयनतारा सहगल ने अपना पुरस्कार लौटा दिया। वे अंग्रेजी में लिखने वाली पहली भारतीय साहित्यकार हैं, जिन्होंने इस मामले में अपना विरोध दर्ज कराया है। आमतौर पर अंग्रेजी में लिखने वाले साहित्यकार ऐसे पचड़े में नहीं पड़ते। अगर उन्होंने पहल की है तो उनकी मदद करनी चाहिए।
Hindi poet and literary critic Ashok Vajpeyi has decided to return the Sahitya Akademi award as a mark of protest against the growing assault on freedom and the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the subject — the third recipient to do so.
"Our Prime Minister, who is so loquacious on all issues, is silent on a series of ghastly events where writers and rationalists are being killed for their views and a common man has been lynched for his alleged eating habits. Narendra Modi needs to assure the reflective and creative community of this country that the Constitution must be respected by all, including his party members and party sympathisers," Vajpeyi, the 74 year-old former Lalit Kala Akademi chairman, told TOI over phone on Wednesday.
After writer Nayantara Sahgal returned the Sahitya Akademi Award to express solidarity with Indians upholding "the right to dissent", poet Ashok Vajpeyi too has given back the prestigious award and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on recent incidents of violence.
"It is high time that writers take a stand," said Vajpeyi, a former chairperson of the Lalit Kala Akademi.
"We have an eloquent Prime Minister who addresses lakhs of people, but here writers are being murdered, innocent people are being murdered, his ministers make controversial statements...Still he is quiet. Why doesn't he shut them up?" Vajpeyi told NDTV.

The 88-year-old Sahgal's move came against the backdrop of the lynching of a Muslim man in Bisada village of Uttar Pradesh. Mohammad Ikhlaq, 55, was killed and his son critically injured by a mob last week after rumours that they had slaughtered a calf and eaten beef.
Sahgal, the niece of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, expressed concerns over a "dangerous distortion of Hinduism" and questioned Prime Minister Modi's silence about a "reign of terror".
"The ruling ideology today is a fascist ideology and that is what is worrying me now. We did not have a fascist government until now... I am doing whatever I believe in," she said in a statement titled "Unmaking of India".
Sehgal also referred to the killings of rationalists MM Kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar and Govind Pansare and blamed the state for failing to protect those who question "any aspect of the ugly and dangerous distortion of Hinduism known as Hindutva".
"In memory of the Indians who have been murdered, in support of all Indians who uphold the right to dissent, and of all dissenters who now live in fear and uncertainty, I am returning my Sahitya Akademi Award," she said in the statement.
Sahgal, who strongly criticised the imposition of Emergency in 1975 by her cousin and ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, said Vice President Hamid Ansari had "found it necessary to remind us that India's Constitution promises all Indians 'liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship'".
