ONE WEEK FROM TODAY:

WATCH THE VIDEO!

Come hear about the diverse accomplishments of Iranian Americans across the country, as they share their career experiences and pass on life lessons to the next generation of leaders.

This is one more way to demonstrate that being an "Iranian-American" is not a dilemma; rather it is a fertile ground in which to grow our dreams."

NURTURING A DREAM TO REALITY - Anousheh Ansari
Every day, millions of dreams are born, and millions of others die a silent death. Only a few ever make it out of the dream world into reality. AA discusses how to nurture a dream to reality, what qualities will help you succeed in the face of adversity, and how to take that passion and lead as a social entrepreneur.

NAVIGATING THROUGH THE MEDIA MAZE - Davar Iran Ardalan

The media landscape is changing rapidly. How can you get your foot in the door? What are some key internships you should go after? How to keep your head down and be humble in the process of moving up the media chain? What are some of the pitfalls you are sure to experience? How can your multicultural DNA inspire and ground you in this pursuit? These are some of the career tips DIA will explore as she passes the torch at UC Berkeley.

LESSONS FROM A CLIMB - Hamid Biglari
HB analogizes career to a climb and shares ten insights he has learnt on his own ascent. He shares perspectives about the role of luck vs. skill, when it is expedient to lose a battle in order to win the war, the role of emotions in making decisions, and how to think about taking career risks. He brings these lessons and many more alive by sharing personal anecdotes from his own career.

DOCTOR OFFERING A DIFFERENT KIND OF MIRACLE - Vishtasb Broumand
VB shares the experience of the emotional, life changing humanitarian rescue missions after Haiti's deadliest earthquake. He recounts a chance encounter with a missionary that led to a number of life saving surgeries. He gives a glimpse into a life consecrated to serving humanity.

A NON-TRADITIONAL PATH: THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY - Hooman Khalili
Breaking down the ever changing landscape of radio, HK will chronicle his own personal struggles from his beginnings as T-Shirt folder to being a radio personality on the #1 morning show in San Francisco Bay Area. HK will also address what he has done to promote Iranians and Persian culture on mainstream radio in a very non-traditional way.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW WHEN I WAS 20 - Hamid Moghadam
HRM reviews ten important takeaways from a thirty-year business career in America, starting as a freshly-minted MBA in the midst of the last major economic downturn of 1980-83, through an entrepreneurial start-up, and an IPO that led to the creation of one of the world's leading property investment and development platforms active on four continents.

LIFE LESSONS - Vali Nasr
VN will reflect on the journey that took him through academia to the policy-making world. He will share his life lessons about balancing commitment to one's values and heritage and the demands of a career. He will reflect on the unique challenges facing Iranian Americans in rising to the top, and will speak to what the next generation should expect in pursuing their vision, navigating the path to becoming thought leaders and public figures.
