Dear Palash,

Click here to save your food
The thought of another organism's gene in my vegetable is revolting. Imagine if this comes true, what will we be eating?

Genetic modification of food crops will make this a reality. These potentially toxic foods harm our health and the environment in which they are grown. The safety of our food will be lost forever if our government passes the Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI) bill.

This bill will create a non-transparent body which will single-handedly clear all genetically modified (GM) crops.[1] Public opposition made the Karnataka government ban field trials of GM crops in the state recently.[2] Now we need to get the national government to stop this bill and save our food.

You should ask Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to stop the BRAI bill because it is dangerous to health.

Public pressure helped get a moratorium on genetically modified Bt brinjal last year.[3] This can be achieved again. Support from lakhs of people will help put pressure on the PM to stop this bill.

Research and tests across the world have exposed the potential health hazards of GM food.[4] Yet our government thinks that these are safe for human consumption.

Save your food, sign this petition now!

Thanks a billion!
