The Ram Temple issue has once again found a place in the political menu with the BJP assessing its acceptance level among the voters in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.

Jan Samvad, a sub-committee under BJP's Central Election Campaign Committee chaired by Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, is collecting feedback from the masses on the Ram Temple issue on its web portal www.jansamvad2014.in. The website launched about a week back asks respondents, among other questions, to rate the seriousness of the Ram Temple issue on a scale of 1 to 10.

"The party wants to know whether Ram Temple is still an issue for people or not. The feedback form on the website is like a survey seeking opinion of neutral public on 15 important issues," said Rameshwar Prasad Chaurasiya, BJP national secretary and party's co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh.
Chaurasiya said the issues that will get maximum points in terms of seriousness would be shortlisted and BJP will include them in its agenda for the Lok Sabha elections.

In the feedback form, BJP has listed 15 points, including Ram Temple, as national issues asking the people to rate them according to their seriousness. This, in effect, also makes the Ram Mandir an election issue, something that party's top brass has been denying so far.
Jan Samvad sub-committee member and BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan, however, said, "The feedback form on the website is only a medium to know the opinion of the people on important issues. We are also asking the people to tell us bout the local issues that will matter in their respective Lok Sabha constituencies."
