Dear Palash,

Click here to add your signature to ask the Prime Minister to save your food
Imagine your favourite food with a dash of spider genes. You may find it gross, but our government certainly doesn't - they want our food to be genetically modified!

The government plans to create a Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI), [1] which will become the single window approver of genetically modified (GM) food in our country. Genetic modification involves inserting a gene from other organisms like bacteria, virus and even animals into our food, making it risky for human consumption. The bill to create this body can be tabled anytime in Parliament.

GM seed corporations, only ones to benefit from this bill, have started a propaganda to get it cleared.[2] Over a lakh people do not want this bill and their opposition will take the form of the World's Biggest GM-Free Baingan Bharta, which is being made today. I am a part of this World Record attempt to save our food, are you?

You should add your signature to the petition asking the PM to stop the BRAI bill because it is not transparent and threatens our food safety.

Recently people power helped achieved a great feat in our country.[3] We need to get together again, this time for the sake of our food. Lakhs of people asking the PM to stop this bill will help show the massive opposition against the BRAI bill.

Time is short, tell the PM to save your food now!

Thanks a billion!
