PAAIA to Host Outreach Events with U.S. Department of State

June 9, 2011, Washington, D.C. - The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of the State, will host a series of informative panel discussions on changes to visa validity for Iranian students.  The first event will be held at Stanford University on June 22nd and the second event will be held at George Washington University on June 23rd.  The purpose of these events, co-sponsored with other Iranian American organizations, is to educate Iranian Americans and Iranian students about the changes to the student visa policy. The panel presentations will include representatives from the U.S. Department of State.

For Alexendra Monir, Book is Just the Beginning

June 8, 2011, Los Angeles, CA - Talent runs deep in 25-year-old Iranian-American Alexandra Monir's family. Given that her grandmother is the late Persian folk and opera singer Monir Vakili, it is perhaps not surprising that she has already released her first, much lauded novel Timeless.

But when one realizes she also wrote and recorded multiple songs to compliment the novel, and that she's already penning her second book (as requested by Random House), it's hard not to be impressed.

The 2011 PAAIA Mentorship Program application process ended on June 3rd, 2011.  PAAIA will match the mentee/mentor pairs and announce the results in July.
