We are not there yet - but we are set on meeting this goal and bringing this message to 4 million readers of The New York Times across the country. With your help, this will happen!

Noam Chomsky was an early signatory to the
Crimes Are Crimes statement. Watch Chomsky, with his calm, reasoned demeanor, explain the Nuremburg standards for international law and why crimes are crimes - no matter who does them.

Noam Chomsky

At the protest this past Tuesday in NY against the FBI raids of antiwar activists homes, a long time activist told me he thought there were better ways he could spend his limited resources than to donate to the New York Times ad World Can't Wait is doing next week.  After we talked about the content of the ad, he said, "I can't think about it in terms of giving money to the NY Times. I have to think about supporting World Can't Wait's work and the movement. I'm going to send $100.  It's really important what you're doing and I want to see this out there."

YES! That is the point - to see this message out there.

More on "why should we spend our resources on this NY Times ad?"

The media may not cover our protests or broadcast our message without us buying space ourselves - but when we do buy this space we give heart and moral sustenance to all those looking for some signs of conscience out there, all those asking themselves how to act during this era of war crimes... I signed the crimes are crimes statement because I witnessed crimes first hand in Iraq. Crimes are being committed daily in our names! We must take a stand and say that we will no longer stand by and allow these crimes to be committed! It doesn't matter whether you're Republican or Democrat when both sides are taking a role in these atrocities! Please sign the crimes are crimes statement and help bring an end to these illegal and immoral wars!

Thank you to all who are donating, phonebanking, emailing, and out there this week helping
raise the funds to make this effort happen!

Protesting the continuing, escalating, immoral war on the anniversary of the invasion this coming week

World Can't Wait will be bringing the message: "War Crimes Must Be Stopped - No Matter Who Does Them" to the DC march this weekend, and raising this urgent need to act against the suffering being imposed on people in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan to the people marching for social justice there. To meet up, gather at 11 am on the corner of 14th Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW for the Peace Feeder March to the One Nation event. This location is nearest the Federal Triangle stop on the orange and blue lines.

In other areas this week there will be Collateral Murder screenings on the streets, in small and large gatherings, and at schools. One student wrote to us about his plans for a protest against military recruiters for the 6th.

These actions are important and need to spread...
let me know what you have planned.
