Subject: [opinion 262] NOW IS THE TIME TO STOP PROHIBITION !
To: Opinion <opinion@googlegroups.com>

This is now the time to decide.
Recently the highest-ranking Australian federal police officer has
called for prohibition of drugs to cease and minimum harm policies to
be introduced.
Enforced prohibition is a great strain on the resources of all
Australians and prohibition is proven to be ineffective.
Alcohol and substance abuse particularly stimulants speed, Ice and
petrol sniffing and chroming (in hailing substances from spray cans)
has caused much damage Physical and spiritual to all members of our
community's, all over the world.
Abuse or over dependences of legally obtained prescription drugs
stimulants and sedatives have an enormous affect on the well being of
all members of society.
The new age drugs such as ecstasy and GHB the new ICE LSD that glows
under ultraviolet light steroids are all created by scientists often
employed by the Governments that make laws to prohibit these drugs.
Prohibition allows huge financial gains for governments just in
revenue of fines imposed when ordinary citizens have been caught with
prohibited substances
Prohibition and regulation can be reasonably argued is implemented so
that revenues can be collected and the governments can make money no
matter what affects these substances have on the people.
There is currently much debate over cannabis and many laws are
implemented on reaction to total exaggerations of the truth.
Fact: there has never been a death from overdose of cannabis.
Fact: Cannabis is wrongly described/ classified as a Narcotic Plant in
Victorian Legislation.
Fact: many users of cannabis mix it with tobacco and tobacco causes
far more serious addiction than cannabis. Well this is a half fact but
laws have been enacted on less than through truthful reports.

On one hand the scientists are finding that cannabis is a very
powerful medicine able to be used for pain relief and it helps with
cancer treatments and often slows down the affects of MS and motor
neuron disease.
Cannabis can therefore be considered worth a lot of money to the big
companies that make all the medicines for the doctors treat the
people.
From a mental health point of view cannabis is now being investigated
as causing some sorts of psychosis and depressive illnesses.
The people that use Cannabis for what ever reason, recreational,
medicinal or for those lucky enough to live in a country where they
can be prescribed the derivates from Cannabis for serious illnesses
need to be released from the prohibition laws so they may speak out
with honesty without the fear of reprisals from the law agencies and
mega rich cartels that because of prohibition have been able to
flourish.

These are all just hypothetical scenarios until there is a through
long term scientific study.
With many considerations e.g. hydroponics grown verses naturally
grown.
Seed grown variety's verses cloned and genetically modified varieties.
Is carbon dioxide supplemented in a controlled environment and what
method is used to produce this gas?  E.g. does the grower use
commercially available pure co2 bottled gas or alternatively
Do they harness the exhaust from his generator pumping fumes and all
other waste gas in to the growing room? This practice may be the
reason for increasing levels of heavy metal (Lead Dust) contamination
in cannabis products reaching the markets.
Did the grower treat his crop with chemicals or organic Nutrients
during growth where the nutrients used sufficiently flushed from the
plants before harvest?
Where the plants dried adequately before packing/storage or sale.
Are there any biological contaminants during growing and processing?
E.g. was there a spider mite problem during growth silken webs often
capture airborne fungal spores. Was the product free of mold
contamination?
It has recently been confirmed that a variety of mold contamination on
rye crops and used in bread was responsible for many people being
burned at the stake, as witches because of demon like and erratic
behavior. (Many molds are hallucinogenic causing severe Psycosis).
What levels of nitrates are present? As well as the levels of
Psychotropic substances like THC.
Do people use the drug with tobacco or with out tobacco in a joint or
a dry pipe or a water pipe?
Are the subjects of the study using or abusing any prescription drugs
or other illicit drugs. Do the subjects have a genetic predisposition
to mental illness or genetic diseases?
How much water do the subjects drink how much caffeine do they
consume.

Prohibition of natural substance may prevent credible research being
conducted forcing users and potential subjects from being included.
Prohibition defiantly cause a reluctance of users to come forward to
openly/honestly participate in studies.
These issues and many that have not been included here are all
variables and must be considered if there is to be any truth available
for all people to make a wise choice.
